01 / Our team & our journey
Our Team & Our Journey
Team Nunapkut brings together youth and adult athletes, cultural representatives, officials and team staff. Each person contributes different strength, experiences, and perspectives.
For generations, traditional games have carried knowledge and skills rooted in survival, cooperation and ways of life in the North. They reflect not only individual strength and ability, but also the importance of working together, learning from one another and contributing to the community.
Today, these living traditions continue to connect people across generations and regions.
02 / Avannaa Arctic Games
More Than a Competition
Hosted by Avannaata Kommunia, the Municipality of North Greenland, the Avannaa Arctic Games brings people from Arctic regions together to compete in traditional sports, build friendships and learn about one another’s cultures.
For Team Nunapkut, returning to Greenland is an opportunity to experience these connections firsthand. Through competition, cultural activities, shared traditions and the hospitality of our hosts, participants can immerse themselves in another Arctic community and exchange knowledge in ways that extend beyond the Games.
For many, this is a rare opportunity. Each participant will experience the journey differently, but the skills, perspectives and relationships gained can carry forward into their education, work, families and communities.
The Games, the people and the cultural connections are all part of the same experience.
